This group exhibition showcases the work of artists that create uncanny works toying with magical realism. Each work presented here is a detailed observation of nature both imagined and real. These various diminutive works create unique, fully realized worlds for us to inhabit. Jump through space in a wormhole that alternatively leads from a raucous showdown between a red squirrel and an acorn woodpecker to the serene quietude of a lonely mountainside. These amazing works are overflowing with the vitality of life that exudes the fever of a racing heart. The mundane and everyday witness of life is also elevated in painstaking detail in a way that celebrates the perseverance of nature and an everchanging city landscape. Like the Paulownia tree that named the gallery, these images endure and grow in our hearts in a way that is unescapable and painfully beautiful.
